Well I finially got the car runnign again today and it was running great. I was so excited got the new tb on and was happy as hell to have it back. I took it for a ride and it stared making noises turned out my egr pipe came loose easy fix no big deal i put it on by hand started the rest of the way home started noises agin so I knew it fell off again while all this was happening i noticed my battery light was on. I kinda just figured its been sitting for a while needs to charge up a little it starts fine another no big deal. So i wait a while for it to cool fixed the egr pipe (by now its dark out) take it for another spin to make sure the pipe ain't gonna fall off notice my instrument panel is only like half lit and my head lights are really dim all of a sudden all my gauges drop and i have nothing and my head lights go about out. I was like **** and start home cars bucking and trying to die and theres people sitting in the middle of the road in their cars talking i kept reving to keep it runing and they sit there they finially moved and i got behine the fire house and it died. I got out my littel jump starter luckly i kept it in there after a few trys got it started and drove around the block to my house and it dies again as i'm ready to turn it off. only thing i can thing of is the new alternator causing this so I emailed the guy i bought it off of to see about testing it not sure how to do that so i asked to i know its ok with him to do so so we'll see what he has to say about all that. Any other ides what would cause this??? I always laugh a little when i see people say my gauges just died found it hard to believe guess now i know whats it like.

Sorry for typing so much just can't believe it all happend in the same freaking day

stick a volt meter on their w/ the car running and see if your alt is charging the battery if it is then your battery is beat and cant hold a charge.if its not charging check for loose connects or bad grounds just might be a bad alt.

That sounds like a classic case of a dead alternator. Rebuilt and "used" alternators are notorious for going out after little use. I experienced the same thing you did with my friend's GT a few years ago. Yank it off and have it tested at an auto parts store.

glad i bought the one with a lifetime warrenty on it if it is the alt brand ****ing new just bought it like last month

What do i stick the volt meter on thats where i'm a little confused i don't really wanna rip it off agian if i don't have too

i guess the way i said it made ya think about your guages.sorry i should have said a digital multimeter, which ya can get just about anywhere for a few bucks if ya dont alredy have one.test the battery + terminal and see what kind of voltage ur getting.should be between 12 and 14 depening on what acc you have turned on.any thing below would mean your battery is not receiving a charge.

ok heres the deal i check the battery wih the car running which i had to jump with a jump started thing i got 13.xxx after a few min the battery light came on and i checked it again and it was only 11.xxx

Another thing i noticed it my fuel pump is constantly running i can hear it humming the whole time the car is running and is smells like its running rich. Is this normal??

Only thing I have changed is the tb i can't see that cause a problem
