I got the left rear done, but now the right rear the pads are on, piston is all the way back and I cant get the caliper to line up with the bolts. Its so hard, im getting so mad.
no offense, but if Caliper doesn't fit, then obviously, caliper is not turned back all the way.
They are very simple mechanical device. if u think about it, the ONLY thing that possibly could make it not to fit, or rather "tight" as you or pads are not seated right
i would go back, and check everything. I would pushe on brake pedal, let piston to come out, and try it again
Ok guys im done, I had to shave down one of the pads to make it fit. I dont have any slide pins, I didnt see any. I greased up the back of the pads and some what under caliper. Said on the little grease packet. I hope everything goes well, Im driving it tommorow.
I pressed the pedal and pumped it and it felt tight. I guess they have to adjust. Also when i pump the brakes i hear like a pump sound on the outside of the car and when i turn the wheel it makes a noise. Maybe because of my car on stands for awhile. I will drive tommorow.
You should definately have slide pins. Otherwise your calipers arn't working correctly. I just had that problem and had no choice but to get new caliper brackets (ford order only ) and slide pins..
