Hey,
This Omelia Harris again. We are having a car show/cruise-in Chesnee, South Carolina.
Most of you know that Chesnee is famous around these parts for "Cruising". So this is sort of a Cruising Reunion and A new Beginning!
It's our Chesnee Spring Fest, we are closing down part of Hwy 11. for the festival. We will have a few (10 to 20)cars there...and there will be a huge cruise/car-show at the Bantam Chef and surrounding parking lots! There will be a "cruise through town at the end of the show with BEST-IN -SHOW as lead. We will have carnival rides for the kids, there will be 2 band stands ...(possibly three),
with music and live entertainment going all day, there will be crafters and artist showing their work at display booths, Lots of food vendors., a RIDING LAWN MOWER RACE, horseshoe pitch, sack races, jump rope contest, kareoke contest, etc.... loads of fun for the whole family.
David Walker who works at the Bantam Chef will be organizing this Car Show/cruise-in and he has not got me all the details yet but you can read a little about it on our website... www.chesneefestivals.com ( please remember I am adding to the website daily as our festival grows. I told him that I know a ton of good car people..(that would be all of you) He would love to have you there. Please try to come to this festival.
We are going to do this for years to come, help us start a May tradition.
We are also accepting applications from any one who makes hand-made crafts. So if you know someone that might be interested please send this e-mail to them or give them my phone number.
Our entertainment committee still has a few open spots to fill... if you know anyone that plays in a music group or band, that would like to perform. Please let us know!

The few Cars that will parked on Highway 11 will be for a "cruising" display/exhibit ( and not competing in the car show) these cars will be (stars of the show) there to tie-in with the festival theme, along with the side walk art show from local artist with subjects of "different modes of transportation".
I will need these cars to be parked there from 8 am until 8 pm .... if you can do this and are willing to share your car for the day .... we would love to exhibit it at the festival. Please let me know.
