Car Shuts Down At 5300 Rpm

I have a 95 gt auto, 182,000 miles that i run every day and race on the weekends. I shift at about 5 grand every time but two times now at the track I was a little late on shifting(lost both races of course) and the car literally died, no popping or sputtering or anything it just like shut off for a second then when the rpms went down after shifting it picked back up. I tried it on the way home and every time at about the same rpm it does it. I am thinking fuel pump. If it is would it hurt to put in a 190 lph pump to cover future mods or would it be too much. The only mods I have done are ud pullies, long tubes with off road h and flows, 373s, cold air intake, and the best mod so far- a 9.5 stallion 2500 stall. My best time so far is 14.097 @ 96.31 with a 1.923 60ft on hankook 275/40/17 street tires. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Two things to think about.

1) With that many miles on the clock, your valve springs most likely are tired.

2) The auto pcm has a rev limiter that is set pretty low. Sorry I don't remember the exact rpm but I do know it is low.
