What could be some of the problems (and solutions) that could cause my car to have a strong order of gas after I shut it off? It is an Edlebrock 4 bbl.It stays that way until it is cooled off.
A vacuum leak around the bese of the carb could be causing excess fuel to be pulled in, bypassing the idle curcuit, while at idle before shutdown. Have you tried setting your idle needle valves? If you turn them in does the car respond, ie: stop running? Do you have a vacuum guage?
I havent done anything to it yet. Should I spray some starter fluid around the base? Also it sometimes backfires like it is cold, Might even do it when it is warmed up. Which screws are the idle mixture screws? Yes I do have a vacuum gauge.
