Im wondering what would have caused my car to stall twice when I hit the brakes? It stalled when I was just about to come to a stop. It wasnt a panic stop or even close. Just one of those ooops I better stop at the yellow light because its going to be close stops. Anyone else experience this?

If it matters I had my front and rear brakes done along with a brake fluid flush about 3 weeks ago. It was also hot outside with the AC going.

This same thing happened to me.. but at the track

Slowing down once I got past the traps, got on the brakes and it just died.. did it about 3 times in 2 different afternoons (several weeks apart)

This also happened to me once about 2 years ago. I was stopping to turn around and the car just died as I was pulling into the driveway. It started right back up though and hasn't happened since..

Yeah this is a common problem, and its friggin annoying.

Hapened to me the other day coming to a slow stop from 55 or so. I went to hit the brakes and they started pushing back... Realised the car had shut off and I didnt have power assist brakes... woo hoo!

Another time it happened coming up to a stop sign. Just cut off after the RPM's played around for a few seconds.

And another time I was pulling into a gas station and it shut off.

POS...

Best advice is to remove and clean the IAC with throttle body cleaner (sensor safe stuff).

I cleaned mine and it has helped so far. It was really gross watching brown stuff flow out of it.
That's CT material if I evver saw it.

I've never had a problem with what you speak. The IAC only caused the car not to idle but it could be happening as you let off the gas to stop. It goes to idle and the clogged IAC causes it to croak. The only other thing I can think of is a loose vacuum hose.

this is pretty common. we don't know what it is really, but it happens to quite a few guys.

Always when coming up to a light or stop etc...

definitely the IAC. autozone sells "Wells" brand IACs, which is what I have and haven't had a problem yet in over a year. The blockage in the IAC coupled with the quick drop of rpms as you come a stop is what causes the car to stall out. In severe cases, the car will not idle at all, or at least idle poorly.

Thats not all it is, Ford didn't even know what to do with it. Its very random, but mine did it right after a retune from Ford and a new IAC. Theres a few cars on here that have the problem. The fix ford tunes in, then becomes the Hanging Idle issue.

I'll drive down there if you'll do the TSB 3650 for me ;)

The problem occours for me usually at night (so I thought it was an alternator thing) with lights on. Or when I have the AC or Heat on and I come to a stop. Clutch is to the floor and so is the brake it just dies. Hasn't
