after taking out the thermostat (the old one went out and havent had time to replace it), and changing out the water pump, my car is still running hot. for not having a thermostat and having a new water pump, i'd think it would be running very cold..i checked the radiator and that's good (also fairly new with only about a yr on it), and the fan itself has had the motor replaced within the last year as well...but it gets hot after driving it for about 10 minutes! what the hell is going on? any suggestions?!

Edit: after driving it around w. the new waterpump, it is running on normal but i still worry that after driving for a while, it'll over heat.

have you checked your brakes for binding? oil level? you sure your radiator isnt clogged? fan really working? head gasket blown? timing set correct? double check everything...it sounds pretty strange.

First put a tstat back in the car it's not going to run cooler with out one. If the water just recalculate with out being held in the radiator long enough to be cooled down the hot water will just continue to recalculate and get hotter. Also don't trust the stock gauges to much our gauges are know for being off besides are cars run at about 210* normally.
