Car won't stay lit

Well I let it sit for about 2 hours with the battery connected while I took the 89 out to dinner with the fam to clear the ECU. Came back with some contact cleaner and sprayed a crapload of it into the MAF element. That worked alot better than alcohol did Reconnected the battery and the MAF and started her up, idle bounced for a second and evened off. Runs stoich now
Now that I've wasted 3/4 of the day on the mechanics of the car I'm going to focus on aesthetics tomorrow like I meant to today
My baby's got a clay bar, polish, wax, wheel-polish, and a wash coming tomorrow

Use brake cleaner to clean your maf.

Heck yeah, thanks for the help

Nah, it's worth the $5 to get a can of contact cleaner for electronic stuff. My brake cleaner leaves a small film on stuff I shoot with it. So I reserve it for cleaning off everything non-electronic. Including my hands

sounds like oil on the MAF from the filter. Clean it using brake cleaner....DO NOT touch the elements.

No brake cleaner on MAF. Residue free, fast drying, o2 senser safe elsctrical contact cleaner.
