Carb to EFI???

I was just curious as to what it take to convert a carb'd engine to fuel injection? If i were to buy a carburated engine are there any draw backs to using this as a daily driver instead of a fuel injected engine. Thanks for your guys help.

o god i hate carb for a daily drive some people can live with it but to me its a pain, if there not perfect it can be so much work, things always break down, u can flood the carbs, thats just my experience with older stangs like 67's and stuff never driven a brand new motor carbed but i can bet its a pain some times

Compared to EFI engines, Carb'd engines get less gas mileage, are not as user friendly to weather and altitute changes, have higher emissions and are not as smooth in lots of stop & go driving.All said, EFI has better street manners.

One stangnetter called carbs "Gasoline Toliets" because when you stand on the pedal, it flushes the tank.

An EFI model car will not pass a full emissions test after it has been converted to carb. It is probably illegal to sell a street driven car that has been converted to carb in a state that requires emissions tests. At that point it is an off road vehicle only.

On a racetrack, carbs are hard to beat for power and simplicty. If the car is for offroad use, it is a very workable plan.

so your saying if i bought a 93 with a solid carb motor it would be a constant pain in the a$$?

if its a track car i would rather have a carb, but for daily use efi all the way
