Carrier question

Hey, I'm getting my 3.73 gears installed tomorrow. We'll find out tomorrow if I'll need a carrier becuase of abuse from the previous owner. I have a chance to get a used Auburn limited slip to go along with it. They said it was working fine when they pulled it to build up a race car. It's only $100. What do you guys think?

can't answer your question, but be sure to add friction modifier with the gear oil.. and change the oil back there after 500 miles (since there will be little shavings from the ring and pinion forming a pattern)... also i'd suggest getting an aftermarket differential cover with a fill and drain plug.. so you don't have to keep paying for the stock one to be re-sealed with silicone.
