Progress Thread Cars alive again, but would these items move on marketplace?

A TKX is gonna run you a hundred bucks shy of $3,000...... But it would be a brand new transmission....
Some cars will require cutting the floor for a TKO, can't say this is true with a fox body, but I know camaro's and Dodges had to be cut...
I see people spending alot of money on " custom " built TKO's that " in my opinion" would be money better spent on a TKX or a magnum 6 speed.
Pic of my TKX that bolted right in to my 83 Fox body.... I had a SROD 4 speed originally whose bellhousing fits a TKX.. A TKX will not bolt up to a T5 bellhousing...

So I missed out before but there’s another kit available around me. This is a V2 TI kit for foxbody. Wanted self contained which this is not but not a big deal. I don’t have a wild set up currently 302 head cam injectors etc chip tuned. I have a term x kit I’ve been wanting to install, plus I also have a 351 I would like to some day build up and swap. I am just trying to figure out is this to much blower for my setup? The guy was building a 351 he was stroking, put on car to idle it and that was it,
So kit is fairly new. Sent serial number to Vortech and they identified. Originally wanted a pro charger but a new kit quickly jumped to 7k + saw this kit posted for 4k but he said currently he would do 3800. It’s satin though and really wanted this big piece of the engine puzzle to be polished.

Don’t quote me but I think someone on the Brew2L YouTube channel ran/runs a Ti on a stock fox and it was seeing like 13lbs of boost? Anyways seems doable but you already have a lot of other performance parts so maybe your power would be too much for the block.

That’s what I’m wondering in regards to boost. My current motor isn’t pushing huge numbers. When it was on the dyno last after getting tuned I was 325hp 340tq. Granted I know there’s more room to push but this car isn’t a daily or track car. My thing is this unit seems like it’s built for higher boost levels and comes on at higher rpm’s say VS an SI trim at 8-10lbs of boost

Terrible cam for boost. It has a bit of overlap and that is not boost friendly. Stock cam would probably work better but ai will defer to guys like @TOOLOW91 who have more experience than me with this stuff.
I guess I just always remember reading it was great for superchargers. But I literally installed this cam back in 99!!! So there’s that! Just seems like a good pick up especially if I could get it down to 3500. I also don’t know why some come with the renegade bracket and other don’t.

Based on a quick look at its compressor map and some beer math, I think a TI is gonna work really well on your setup. 325 at the tire implies 500 rwhp by 9-10 psi.

What is your n/a 302 combo?

I guess it depends on how particular you are, but as far as Ford alphabet cams go, the F-cam is by far the most popular turbo cam. I've seen folks recommend it in blower combos, too.

That said, I don't think any Ford cam is near optimal for any serious combo.

Again, I will defer to those that have boosted cars and actively tune them. I’m just going on what I have read and been told about overlap and blower cars by a few local engine builders that say it is not what you want with a blower.

That looks like a nice kit - renegade bracket and discharge pipe

The ti would be fine and you could grow into it if you needed

While the f cam is not in any choice of mine I have a friend who’s been mid 8s with one with a turbo. It’ll work guys did it way back when. The 112 is meh you’d really want from what I see 114-115 ish LSA. The single pattern isnt optimal all the cams I have had spec favor the exhaust side a little extra. I could go on but this is just what I have seen from my experience. I am by no means an expert.

I will say your intake is a bottle neck as well in my opinion .

Don’t worry about the few rpm the blower makes power later it will wake that thing right up and if you do build a Windsor be plenty of blower for it

I’ve seen Freezy make just shy of 800 to the tire through a stick with a ti

Def beyond my knowledge on all that!! Slapped that old thing back in high school over 20yrs ago with 1.7s, a cold air intake and some 3.73s and thought I was everyone’s nightmare!!
