I can pick up a Mac Offroad H-Pipe for a good price. Don't the 99+ Stangs have 6 cats on the stock H-Pipe?? Would it be noticeable if I put on the o/r pipe on? It should be easy to install and uninstall for inspection time, right?

Note: To clarify, I'm talking about if I get pulled over or something.

weld heat shields like what's on the cats around the piping to really look like cats.

visual wont be the problem, its how f'n loud the car will be.

and no, the 99+ gts only have 4 cats.

It does pick up the DBA's quite a lot. A guy at my last meeting had an X-pipe and it sounded great but nothing I'd wanna drive past a cop with or come home at 2 am.

Installation is pretty straight forward and doesn't take very long.

You have no cats, and flows... how does it sound.

Would a mac catback and o/r h-pipe be too loud, even in slow driving (residential) or will it attract cops too easily?

it's going to be loud..I have the slp catted xpipe with catback and it's freaking loud..can't imagine having an O/R...
on a side note, it's $2,000 per cat missing if you get pulled over by a cop in cali..it's not worth it for 5 HP gain...

Thanks for the info, definently not worth it. I wasn't sure if it was a $20 fix-it ticket or a big fine.

That's cool, I'll get a Steeda Tri-Ax right now instead.

EDit: Did you buy your X-Pipe with cats or did you have them installed? I can't find ANY midpipes with cats for sale... how much is it for cats installed on a midpipe... since I probably wouldn't be able to do that myself..

i am living in CA, i got pulled over 2 times for loud exhaust. One warning, and one fixing for loud muffler.
BTW, my car is way too low, do u think that cops with their nice clean uniform will lie down on the ground to check ur cats?
if they want to do that, they will just give you a fixing ticket for loud muffler.
Most mustangs in my area in cafords.com ran no cats.
My car has Mac o/r H with magnapack. it sounds awesome. just put in four or fifth gear or put ur feet on the clutch without giving gas when you pass the cops. u would be ok

yes I bought mine with cats..usually when buying a midpipe, you have the choice of going catted or o/r...catted is more expensive, like $150 more, also my 01GT had 4 cats stock.
