Hey i couldnt find this exact answer anywhere so here goes. Im in NJ and we have the dyno Emission test. I just got the Mac High Flow pipe with cats and was wondering if i would be able to pass emissions without the smog equipment hooked up. Its and 88 5.0 (80,000 mile orig) with a paxton novi 1000 and the usual bolt ons. any help would be appreciated. Also what do you guys use to block the air tube hole on the h pipe? thanks in adavnce. it hasnt been street legal for 6 years and idont want that ticket...

People will need to know what cam you have.

I think you could possibly pass if you are still running cats.
If they test for NOx you will want to have the egr hooked up.

How detailed is the visual?
Here in Seattle they never pop the hood.

Im in NJ also and they test for NOx they check under the car with a mirror and popped my hood when they figured out I didnt have cats ..we have the rolling emission test here and everytime I went back they got my car on the damn rollers and kept revving it up and lauging stupid smog nazi's

Im in NJ, and registered my car as "collector status" so i can skip right to the reinspection line and all they check is to make sure my Odometer is working and thats it, they dont care about anything else :nice:

I have the stock cam and everything else is pretty mild. Ive been out of the game for awhile but i have the cobra intake and recall that it has not egr on it or a spacer or something.? I know that the inspectors dont open the hood. Not that they would know what to look for. I have a friend that works for them and i have heard horror stories like putting the front wheels of mustangs, cameros, etc on the dyno.. oops.
