JK welcome to my world it sucks ass, i would have no problem putting longtubes with a catted pipe on, but they are still illegal.

I recommend getting the pie with cats. We Mustang owners should always be environmentally minded.

Wilmington, the counties around here started the emissions test Jan 1 of this year, Ive already called local shops that do the test, the only thing I need is the catted h-pipe, longtubes is no problem. When I get the new catted pipe, if I like the sound I will keep it on there, if not it WILL come off as soon as I get home from the test. I am getting a new cat-back exhaust soon, so mabye with a good choice on it, the new cat pipe wont be bad at all, and I can keep it on my car.

I removed the rear pair of cats only. It gave it a deeper sound, as far as SOTP power increase .

In MA its illegal to move the location of your O2 sensors, wether or not you could pass the test or not, I dunno. I don't want to take the risk.

when I bought my car it had an O/R H + flows - so not only was it loud, it sure as hell was not passing emissions. I went to the shop to see if i could get it passed somehow, the guy laughed at me and put the R sticker on the car. Of course, that bought me 60 days to throw the stock pipe on and try again. I'm always thinkin

Ok well since maybe you guys can give me a clearer answer, a buddy of mine and myself have a project car, its a 99 5-Speed GT. So far the mods we have on it are the following

- 3.73 Rear End Gears
- Autolite 103 Spark Plugs (1 Stage colder)
- Underdrive Crank Pulley
- Underdrive Water Pump Pulley

We plan on putting an O/R H-Pipe on it since there is no emmissions tests here and we want it loud. My question though is, will this set off the check engine light?

and off road pipe will definetly set the light off. you can either get MIL, which will eliminate the light, or if u get it tuned, have the light turned off. Other than annoying its not really a big deal if the light is on. as too all that the light signals is an emissions problem if the light comes on. IF you have a serious problem like a misfire, the light will start blinking, so if u can stand the light being on ?! go for it.

IT will be loud, but nothing unbearable you will love the sound.
