Nice, but expensive. I haven't seen one in person yet. I don't know if I would grow tired of it and regret spending several thousand on it

I've seen several of these up close and personal and think they're incredibly cool! Pricey, as mentioned, with quotes of $2,000 to $3,000 parts/labor.

Now to see it on a VB Looks really good, but unless I pick the right #s(will never happen as I never play), I'd more than likely put that money towards under the hood go parts.

What are you having to pay? I love it but think I would never spend the going price unless there's a deal to be had.

I want one. I've wanted one since day one. It is going to look disgusting (in the good way) on my Alloy GT.

I save my pennies...that's all I can do...I am almost there....finally.

Talking in passing about it with one of the salesman at the dealership, I discovered that the glass roof is actually rated stronger than the metal roof. Metal roof needs something like 18 PSI to collapse versus like 60 or 80 PSI for the glass. I have no idea how that works out safety-wise in a roll over, since glass tends to break with impact while metal obviously doesn't.

Yep. I thought about going with Auto FX down in Tacoma, but the guys at ATD seemed more professional on the phone.

the glass is laminated, just like your windshield. may break, but it wont shatter. laminated glass is much safer, and increases the structural integrity of the car.

I have seen the metal in Mustang roofs. It is thin. I can easily believe the glass is stronger.

I think it looks great and I want one in a bad way, but don't have that kind of money to throw at my car. I can see how it is so expensive since it is a low production glass panel with low production trim pieces. That plus labor adds up. If I had the money I would have a serious dilema on whether to add performance parts or the roof. I might lean towards the roof because I used to have a Corvette with the glass targa panel and that really made the car feel open and more enjoyable to drive.

If you can wait until the 2009 models are out you can get it as a factory option at a lower price. I've seen the 09 prototypes and it is a much cleaner look than the CDC one. It also comes with a sliding sun shade and less outside mouldings because the factory install doesn't have to hide what the aftermarket one does.
