you can still use pretty much any centrifugal supercharger, ya just don't use the air comming in the shaker. (which wouldn't help you for a blown application anyway)

CDC offers a supercharger "conversion" peice, though. So at least you don't feel like you wasted your $750+ I'm not sure how much it helps but, I don't think it would hurt.

like I said, I jsut wanted to be different, and give my money to CDC who manufactured an entire kit, VS KarKraft who just made two metal brackets and sells them with the stock shaker, you still have to buy and paint a whole new hood with them, wich is also why I say it comes to about the same.

KarKraft kit would have cost me 1,100+
CDC kit cost 980 total

CDC kit will have minimal mods,
KarKRaft kit will have a ton of mods eventually as the Mach aftermarket grows

Just for completeness, I thought I would mention that in addition to the CDC and KarKaft kits, there is also the Banshee kit.

I am sure this is one of those "your results may vary" kind of things. I ended up spending just under $1000 for my KarKraft based conversion.

Anyone have the kit for the 96-98 cars? I'm confused on why everyone mentions swapping hoods because I understood with these kits you just cut the stock hood or is this just on the 96-98 cars?

With the CDC kit, you cut a hole in your exiting hood, and add their applique.

With the KarKraft kit, you use the Ford Mach 1 hood.

With the Banshee kit, you use their own custom hood.

check my car domain site, I have pre-install photos so you can see what comes with the CDC kit, unfortunately I didn't take pics of the hood cutting, once I made that ugly hole I had to cover it as fast as possible And most people compliment it saying it looks a ton better than the Mach setup, now if only some one would make an aftermarket hood that was one piece I'd be happy, cause some day I'll have enough cash to paint a whole hood instead of just an applique

I did look at the banshee setup and I went with the CDC one because of the heritage with the 69 shaker box, the banshee kit looks great IMO but it just isnt much of a throw back to the Mach's... Now that I think about it, Ford should have used the Banshee idea then it wouldnt have been acused of rehashing an idea, it would have been "retro"ing it

well i found a c/f mach hood. will somone measure your cdc and karkraft hoods compared to the c/f one and see it it will fit.

oh and about the cintrifugal supercharger. why doesnt someone make a molded duct piece that directs the air from the hood scoop around the supercharger for cooling??

link to c/f hood:

Wow... dug up from the past.

The C/F hood in the auction is a direct replacement for the factory Mach 1 hood. The Kar Kraft kit is the shaker and a modified mounting bracket for the shaker to fit on the SOHC GT engine using a factory Ford Mach 1 hood.

If you want to use the C/F hood, you will need the Kar Kraft kit. I believe that MyPonyRocks has now switched over to the Kar Kraft kit with the C/F hood.
