I have been working on my console for a while. Just couldn't bring myself to spend $1000 bucks on one. It may be a little while before it is done, but I think it will look nice.

What are you going to use for a covering over the wood?

Looks cool. I didn't want a full center console so i just made one that comes from the dash down to the floor. Looks pretty good.

Looks pretty solid, i like it.
What are you planning to include in the console, cupholder, switches, etc?

These pics may answer some question, I still need to cut the hole for my manual tranny shifter. The brushed aluminum is actually vinyl. I don't know how to do the whole brushed look on aluminum, so thought this would be best. These are 2 5/8" gauges, like them better than the smaller ones. I will get some more done tomorrow, and it will look more complete.

Metal that will get overlayed with the vinyl.

I would like to have real brushed aluminum, but I will take what I can get right now.

What did you guys use for the brushed aluminum? Did you use aluminum and then use the technique to make it brushed?

You can buy brushed aluminum from McMaster-Carr or any other industriul supply place that handles raw materials.
