I will be going with FI in the spring and i have some important questions that i need answered before i make a final decision. I can get a good vortech setup V2SQ with cooler or a KB 2.2L setup for roughly the same price. I want to go with a nice blower and run 9 lbs of boost and be done with the power mods. I have installed, tuned and driven a SN 5.0 with a KB and bolt ons and the car was insane! Full boost by 2200 rpm. BUT my motor is already a little sluggish in low RPMs and i dont know if a KB setup will work well with my combo. It seems like a centri blower may be better suited to a higher powerband car? For those who have centri blowers on HCI cars, how is mid range power and boost? say from 2500-4000 rpm? thats where im most concerned! let me know your thoughts and experiences! thanks

Thanks for all the info guys. I read that thread you included and it has some good info as well. It seems like everyone is in the same boat...non-intercooled KB or an after/inter cooled centri. I think for ease of instal and my current powerband a centri would scream at high RPM....but i love low end TQ. keep the advise comming.:flag:

it trully is about what you want the car to feel like and what its duties are.... for a street crusier ....i dont think there is anything better than a KB....but if your looking for a dyno queen then centri-supercharger or even turbo

edit: and the whole not having an intercooler thing is now total bs......you could get a snow water methonal kit if your worried about cooling

true true...i have though about a turbo setup many a time...but it just means so many additional install issues and i have never personally worked on or tuned anything turbo related. I think for me an intercooler or aftercooler is a must on a centri blower for stayin real safe. I want to run just 9 or 10 pounds and be done with it. that will put me around 400 whp...and honestly thats enough for me. But i want it to be safe when i beat on it on a hot summer day too...so keepin temps under control is important...and it makes tuning a little simpler. thanks for all the advise though...anyone with an aftercooled vortech setup out there!??!
