I'm going to convert to an electric radiator fan for my engine swap and was wondering what kind of cfm rating should I get concetering It's going to be a mild 351w with someware between 250 and 300 hp. I'm also concetering mounting it in front as a pusher has anyone ever done this, will I run into any overheating or clearence problems? With the v-6 rad in place now it looks like i could fit an electric in.

Thanks a lot

big as possible, best bet is the taurus fan, but be careful, it does not fit some cars, heard rumor that the LS1 fan might work, dunno though

do any of the summit universal trimline style fans work? I've seen some of the import dual fan setups and they're fairly small like a II. I've never checked dimensions though

I have a non-standard 302 that came with a four-blade fixed-blade fan. I don't have the money for an electric fan swap yet, how about a Summit 7-blade flex fan?

I suggest the early 90s Taurus fan as well. I put one in the Thundersnake. It fits the V8 radiator very well, with only minor trimming. And it's dual speed and draws WAY more air than any aftermarket fan. I got mine on ebay for $50, they are cheap and often on there.

Be warned they are a VERY tight fit! I shimmed my radiator front a bit, and I am using the earlier "short" MII water pump, and still had to use countersunk bolts on the WP pulley. But man does it move the air!

Is it a little wide? I have a good 3 inches or more between my radiator and block...like I said I have a non-standard 302.

I'm not sure what you mean about a "non-standard 302"? but here is a coupe of pictures. I cut about an inch off of the built-in shroud that is part of the fan all the way aaround. Hope this helps.

That'll definitely fit, thank you for your help!

A previous owner installed another 302 other than the ones you could order from the factory. I'm still doing research to figure out where it's from.
