Changing auto Shift points

My 01 Gt 4r70w shifts too early for my liking. I've done the J-mod. Love the results! And I've programmed the shifts as late as possible using my Superchips 1745 programmer. But it still shifts really early on light throttle. I'm in 4th lockup by the time I just get through and intersection. Thats about 30 mph. I know there's nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't suit my taste. I've got 3.73 gears and I was thinking about programming it as 3.90 gears or 4.10's as a way to change the shift points. Would this cause durability problems or late shifts at wide open throttle?

Doesnt the Predator change partial throttle also?

I got one used and I am pretty pleased with it so far.

Sorry to hijack but whats up with the tranny cooler? I have asked about 3 trasmission shops and they all said you dont really need one unless youre towing.

No. The Predator will only let you change WOT shift points. Although, you can get a Diablosport tuner to make you a tune with modified part throttle shift points, then email it to you, then you can load it into your car using the Predator.

I've talked to some high powered race car builders. They've had 250+ degree temps in their tranny without issues but they normally service the transmission after a few trips to the track. My car is a daily driver so it's cheap insurance to keep the temps below 200. I need longevity out of it.

I have 4.10's and mine gets into 4th at about 30 as well! You can manually shift it if that will appease you other than that I don't think there is a way unless you get a program to change it Electronically! You have to manipulate the ECU with a program. I hear the diablo chip allows you to change part throttle shift points!

After more thought I figure I was on the wrong track because the shift points would be related to prop speed, not speedo reading. So a different programmer would be my only option. The Xcal2 appeals to me because of the data logging and PC software that would give me a lot more info and flexabilty. Manually shifting on a regular basis, I feel, would be a little hard on the tranny due to higher pressures used during manual shifts. Might be a little abusive.
Thanks for all the input.:SNSign:
