Common rear axle fluids seem to be either 75W-90 or 75W-140. All the owners manual says is use Ford Specification ESP-M2C154-A. The Chiltons Manual says to use 85W/90 or 85W/95. What is everyone using? Again I am leaning towards a synthetic.
Mav is right. Up in Wa., you get some cold temps, so i would stay with the 75W-90 (though if what you get is 85W-90, I dont really see an issue with that, unless it is really cold where you are [I cant remember where Silverdale is]).
Synthetic is always good IMHO. Just be sure to ask or find out if the synthetic has friction modifier in it, or if you need to add some.
For any application except road racing I'd stick with rear end lubes in the 75w-90 range; for road racing (higher rear end fluid temps) I'd use the 75w-140.
