Only $140 for these? Anybody tried these new gears or are they crap? Also are these really Ford Racing Gears or some knockoff brand?

Those are real ford racing gears. They are the best you can get, and that's a good deal. I think that's Diversified and they're a good supplier.

Alright thanks for the quick reply. I want to get gears done and I think I can save some money if I buy the parts because LaRocca's in NJ wanted close to $750 with the trac-loc rebuild and if the rear needed to be rebuilt. I was thinking more along the lines of:
Gears-$140
Ratech Deluxe Install Kit-$100
Trac-Loc Rebuild Kit-$50
Then Labor

Anything else I am forgetting and what does everyone think a fair price for labor is?

CJ pony parts quoted me a price of $650 to rebuild the rear and install 3.73's

I was gonna buy my 3.55's from www.buyfordracing.com, but I wanted to call to verify that they were in fact real FRPP parts, but when I called it said "the number you are attempting to reach is no longer in service" or something like that. It seemed a bit shady to me. I got them from www.gefracing.com (It's a ford dealer that sells FRPP parts) for the same price, and I could actually talk to them.

Does the rear really need to be rebuilt or is it a precautionary measure. I know I should do it and I probably will but I'm a poor college student.

I'm pretty sure gefracing.com charged me like $25 for shipping (its been a few months, memory is gettin foggy), that brings the total to $165, which still puts you ahead of alot of companies' prices

I just bought some 4.10's from BuyFordRacing.com and got them in under a week for $185 shipped. I was very pleased, and they are infact the real FRPP gear sets, no imitation. Also, shipping was just under $15, so it's an unbelievable deal for those shopping for 3.55's or 3.73's! Ford did raise there prices on gear sets recently, but they are still very cheap here. Hope this clears things up.

I just received my 3.73's from Summit today. I had them price match gefracing's $140 price. Also Summit only charges a $8.95 handling fee for all orders.

The traction lok? If you can peel out and leave 2 rubber marks, you dont necessarily have to have it rebuilt. For me it was an extra 120$ to have it done.

I definitely need my trac-loc rebuilt. I made a video of my car with my GF's digital camera and only 1 wheel left a mark and smoke, so it's time for that. I found the rebuilt kit for $45 and then whatever labor will be.
