I am looking at getting new tires and wheels and found this on ebay. 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear Cobra R wheels with 245/45 and 275/40 rubber. The tires are Hankook and dont know about the wheels? The price is $665 plus the ride. Is this a good deal or just crap?? I want to replace my stock 17x8 and 245/45 rubber without spending alot of $$$

I've seen the 03 Cobra wheels on there just recently, and had the same question about their quality. Curious to see the responses.

I think the 275's on a 10.5 rim might be a little small. Most people I know run a 275 on a 9" front and a 305 on a 10.5 in the back.

I checked BFG and Yokohamas websight. Both say for the 275/40 to go with 9.0 - 11.0 wide rim. With my car being lowored with the Eibach Sportlines Im not sure about much bigger. Also what would be the benefit of a 315/35 tire on a DD that I will do a little Auto-X next year and maybe some club track stuff.

well I know on the BFG dr's they are a little under size rated IMO. The 275's I had looked more like a 295. I have a buddy who's got 245's on his 17x9's and they look balloned out.
As far as handling I don't know there seems to be some discussion regarding that in another thread. All I can voice is personal opinion and what I consider visually "right" and the big 300+'s look good on the rear, and the 275's look good up front. If you go over to gotstang.com check out 1tufgt he is running some really wide rear's and his is lowered alot looks like it's dropped next to mine.

i work for a tire shop and i can tell you for a fact that hankook tires are *****. you will not be happy with the tires. i have 18x9 and 18x10.5 saleens on mine and i run a 265/35/18 and a 295/35/18 on the rear. i will be going up to a 275/35/18 on front next set. i have BFGoodrich KD's on the back and i love them the kdw's are a good tire up front

I have those tires, they are good for the street, they dont hook very well but its fun to make some easy burnouts, they came with the rims I got and I got it for pretty cheap, I just dont care about those tires, they look good but dont perform very well, they are quiet on the highway doh, my next tires are going to be bfgoodrich. Btw I have 275 all around and the rims are 17x9, I think on a 10.5 rim the tires are going to be stretched, at least you can join every vw club without fear of being reject.

if the wheels are afs, they are good. i have had no problems with mine. i know a few people with the hankooks and they are happy with the tire for the money they paid.i have 295/35/18 kdw(nt) on 9.5'' rims on the back of my car with sportlines and they fit perfect.
