Hello to the 2.3ers, I bought a 92 for my daughter that had the check engine light on and no tach, I read the forums and replaced the ICM which fixed everything and had the thing running like a top. Yesterday her check engine light came back on and it developed a slight misss, tach working this time, any suggestions? Can I read the codes myself? The car has 118K.

Thanks,

Dan

You can buy a code reader for about 20 bux and scan the codes yourself...parts stores have them.

Ok, this car is driving me nuts! I bought a code reader and have no codes, car runs great but I thought I would drive it today before I give it back to my daughter, ran good until pulling up to a stoplight and it quit and wouldn't restart so I pushed it off to the side and hook up the code scanner- no codes!!!! WTF? Turned the key and it ran perfect and has ever since????? Should I try another module?

No the light never came on when the engine quit. I thought these cars could store codes? I will go read the book that came with the scanner.

Well I'm not sure then...

I used to have problems with my code scanner giving me nothing sometimes too. So I'm not so sure if it stores codes or not.
