Well im changing my exhaust setup to a single 3inch pipe, maybe 3-1/2 (off downpipe) to a dynomax race muffler (one of those round mufflers) to a dump just before the axle. My main reseanoing is for cost, since those mufflers are cheap, and i can sell my entire exhaust for decent money. And the weight savings!

I put everything on a scale, heres what i came up with.

First pic -28 pounds for the pair
Second pic - 14 pounds for the pair
Third pic - 6 pounds for pair
Fourth pic - 19 pounds

Total = 67 pounds. Hopfully the race muffler and short piece of pipe wont weigh to much. Im gonna go order the parts tomorrow.

This weight savings will hopefully off set the turbo kit weight. Last year i weighed in at 3250 (with me in it, I weigh 175), and that was without my skinnies and without the subframe conectors, so a little plus-minus there. I had my chrome cobra R's all around. I will also have a set of rear welds to match my skinnies. I know oink saved a bunch of weight on the swap from cobra R's to welds. I yanked a few other smalls things out of the car also. The plan is to be under 3175 race weight, hopefully ill get there!

Sounds like a really good idea! Especially with a turbo and one exhaust. Too bad i have to swap in my cats for emissions, otherwise that would be a GREAT idea. I wouldn't have even thought of loseing that kind of weight. I knew swapping the Hpipe would help, but shoot, mufflers and all the rest... good idea!!!

Jake - Yea i will have alot of vids come spring. Hopefully alot of me spanking my friends h/c/i ls1's :D

94- Yea i lucked out, my friend does stickers, so i just give him a copy of my registration and he takes care of it. He just runs another rwd car on the rollers.

I'm still trying to figure out how i could do something similar, but without the turbo, i almost want it to go all the way back. Bummer, i was looking at losing a good 50 pounds. I still can't believe that it weighed that much. And that was aftermarket!! I bet you can FEEL that much difference, just from the weight! Then again, i just got my subs up and running, LOL, so it's not like i'm TOO worried about weight!

Well it should help offset the turbo settup. I put my batt in the trunk as well, so it should help. I should have weighed the intercooler and hot side piping before i mounted it all. Im gonna weight everything now, just to keep track.

On an n/a car a settup like this wouldnt be good cause you want backpressure, where as turbos want the exahust free flowing. I disconected my catback once, and it had NO torque, felt so slow.
