check out this "show car"

well i know that i have well over 20,000 rapped up in mine but it doesnt make it worth that...i know im much closer to the 8,000-10,000 range...for me to say i want 20,000 for it people would just laugh....i suppose everyone has their own opinion of what they're car is worth, some just being a little higher than others

I know that we won't get what we have in them. But IF we have 10,000, or even 20,000 like allballs said, we gotta ask at least 7-10. I think 4-5 is just outta the question for some of us if we went to sell them. I think the paint is the biggest thing on fox bodies. When I go to car shows, people have BIG money wrapped in their motors. But when you take a walk around the car, I wouldn't drive it. They look horrible. It could run 11's, 10's, 9's, and I wouldn't want it. I rarely see nice cars like the ones we have here on SN. If I do see really nice ones, they are original owners, 10K or less and if those guys wanted to sell, they would ask 15K+. So I think we are all safe, just asking what we want, and if we don't sell, don't sweat it, people won't find much better.

On a side note....I just went to a place that is repainting a car for someone I know, because he needed some parts. He is charging 3,000 for the paint job....It's not done yet, but I wouldn't pay 3,000 for the paint that's laid on the car. They didin't remove any moldings, lock cylinders, mirrors, trim. There are tape lines everywhere. And you can't wet sand and wheel the car out nearly as good as you can if that stuff was all removed. If people will pay 3K for a halfass paint job, they gotta pay more than 5K for a solid car with that halfass 3,000 dollar paint job, right? That's just my opinion.

very true...it really is hard to find nice cars with really clean paint jobs...i did mine about 2 years ago and it was the first car i ever painted...now that ive done quite a few others ive gotten a good nack for it and id love to redo mine to make it flawless... its just alot of work and a considerable amount of down time...if i decide to do it ill wait till winter so im not cutting into my cruising...2nd time around id like to really get crazy about detail, it makes all the difference

Very very true, I have looked at alot of Mustangs in the past month and there are very few out there that are desirable. My wife and I were discussing it when we were comming home from looking at one, It seems that cars that were 4-5G 3-5 years ago are now on the market for 6-8G?? Crazy! I'm looking in the 8 grand market and I'm looking at cars that to me are only worth 5G like the one in the title of this thread. AND WHAT IS WITH THOSE TAILLIGHTS? I know I have been in AK for three years so maybe I missed something.

It is very very hard to find a mildly modified Fox that does not screem "I'm a 23 year old kid and I love Fast and Furious" I need to find one that is very subtle and screems "dont look at me I'm no one" lol but when you do look you realize it's very well thought out out and super clean. Anyone know what I mean?

Exactly. Then you would love my black 91 notch if you saw it. I'm seriouslly considering selling it. It'll be hard to do, but it's kind of gotta be done because insurance for all 5 of my cars is high, in fact, I'm not even driving or insuring my 96 Cobra.

I am thinking of asking 10,000 or 9,500. I am negotiable, but I'm not giving the car away to some knuckle head because it "has a salvage title, and is originally a 4cyl car" , or it's "not worth that much". I'm gonna look at those people and say, "BYE, good luck finding one like this". My car has some mods, and the paint is excellent. Interior is 100% stock, clean, clean, clean and original, with only 1 small cigarette burn on the bottom of the back seat, right where it butts up with the backrest...I don't ever, ever see it. So, again, boys, don't give in to some buyer that has more money than he says, because you know if you knock 2K off the asking price, they are just gonna put the extra 5K into it that they have in the bank, and make it run 10's.
