Check out what Ford is up to now...

thats true. and i do hate it when people get sued over crappy reasoning. Thats the point i was trying to make with my gift comment. If you want to use thr registered name then you should have to pay something. Thats the reason the Ford GT is called the GT and not the GT-40. Ford didn't have the rights to the name anymore and they were not willing to buy it back. Ford is playing by the rules they are trying to enforce on those using there registered trademark. Do you think it is fair that milton bradley had to pay for the mustang name when they brought out the mustang monopoly game if say mustang's unlimited doesn't? the name mustang is sold to many advertisers and other company's to promote the mustang. if people can use it for free how can ford make money off of it to major advertisers. i wonder how must Muscle mustangs and Fast Fords pay's. or any mustang magizine for that matter. yes these company's are helping us out and selling ford products but where do you think the profits are going these parts companies are making using a registered trademark? back to ford? i doubt it.

isn't milton bradley a baseball player?

The thing is: Ford has gained a hell of allot more from vendors and suppliers using the Ford name then they EVER gave up. My counter law suit (if I were one of these vendors) would recoup moneys for the years of free advertising and Ford licensed products that had been sold by my establishment.

Ford did not make Mustangs the legacy it is today. NASCAR, Mustang owners, Aftermarket vendors, and suppliers made Mustang the legacy it is today. Without those folks, the Mustang would never amounted to anything more than a two door "secretary's car".

They better wise up before they snowball the whole thing into alienation of those that made that legacy.

Like I said before.... they've gained a thousand fold anything that was ever given up by folks using the name Mustang.

It's piss-poor decisions like these that has put FOMOCO in the jeopardy it's in right now. They're going to kill the only thing that's currently keeping them afloat. A loyal customer base.

Seeing this news has me truely upset.

Ford pissing on the Mustang aftermarket is not going to encourage more Mustang purchases.

In fact the Mustang would most likely have died out years ago if it weren't for the enthusiasm of performance junkies being spoon fed by the aftermarket.
If the aftermarket had not been so supportive of the Fox Body Mustang, then the Fox Body would have been the last Mustang before switching to the Probe. And we all know what happened to the Probe.

I like to think that someone from public relations will see what I am writing here, but that is not reality. Reality is that we are not being heard, which bothers me even more.
I propose we collectively contact Ford and present our side of the argument.
Does anyone know how to get in touch with some one from Ford?
I would volunteer to compile all of our comments to present to them.

I am not talking out my @$$ right now (most of the time I am though). I would like to make this happen, and hope some others can join in and contribute as well.

i tried looking up an old friend of mine. I went to highschool with him, and his great-great grandfather was henry ford. His uncle is at the healm today, but i havent talked to the kid in like 5 years. he wasn't on facebook, which sucks cuz i would have talked to hmi and told him to tell his uncle to get his head out of his ass. or asked if i could call the man himself.

edit "i went to a very richkid prep-school....im not BSing you guys about him. i meet his rents several times, talked to his mother about the Ford family too. Im not rich at all, but they wanted me for hockey, so i got to go anyways with a lot of financial aid help...

I saw this a few days ago... I don't know what ford's problem is... Oh yeah, they can't make cars that Americans want to buy. And the ones that we do like, the dealers put on a AMV so high that we just hate Ford even more.

Agreed. Something Ford cannot do. Definatly a car company on the way out. They are whining and trying to blame everyone else for thier demise, the problem is them.

Oh, and the AMV, additional market value... what a joke. It's a FORD. I think it's funny how they will very openly up the price and straight tell you that that is thier "right" to make more profit.
