Roush Chicane 35hp Intercooler Upgrade

Hello guys,

I have really been thinking about getting the intercooler upgrade from Joe over at Chicane. Have any of you done this upgrade, and what are your thoughts on it. I would appreciate any comments. It is a $800.00 upgrade, so I wanted to make sure it will be worth the money. And, is there anything special about its installation such as shimming, EGR issues ect. Joe said that I should see a 35hp gain. Pics on PAS's web site. On the PAS site they call it a heat exchanger, but it is really an intercooler.

I also have been thinking about the Accufab 75mm throttle body to go with it. I measured the SC plenum and it measured about 71mm or so. So which one should I get. The 75mm, or the 70mm. I dont want any air flow issues by not having the appropriate TB. . Again, what are your thoughts?

Are there any better SC plenums than the plastic one that comes off of the back of the Series II Saleen SC??

It really works and is worth more money than what they are selling them for and I'll tell you why.

When you take you car to the dyno on a cool day with the hood up and the big fan blowing in you get some good hp numbers.

I hate to tell everyone but when you decide to let her rip from that stoplight with the hood closed of cousre after driving you car in traffic for a half hour you car is not making nearly as much power. When the heat goes up your ecm is really pulling timing to keep everything in check. This intercooler keeps it consistantly low ALL THE TIME therfore you are actually making the power you think almost ALL the time.

It is an intercooler. The heat exchanger is down below peeking through the front bumper. Just a typo on PAS's website I'm sure.

Oh yea, I have seen more like 40 hp all the time with it and sometimes more.

What other mods do you have or are planning? You really don't need to go 75. You should look into the series 4. I forget what needs to be modified to make it work on the series II blower but it flows better. Hopefully you will get the gains you want with the Series II. Otherwise the alterantive is to start spending stupid money.

I am about modded out ...LOL... I think the Intercooler and TB will be the last ones... As far as stupid money, there is no more ....

I installed one on my 03 ...You have to remove the intake with the blower.Then remove the blower and old intercooler locate and drill new holes on chicanes intercooler then put it all back togeather and reinstall back on motor.I also added the LFP heatexchanger and supertank.Plan on about 6Hr +- and a friend to help pull it off and on.

My engine is already out, and the intake and SC are sitting in the trunk of my car. So what are your feelings on the mod now that you have it??? Is it worth the $800.00???

I made about 27 RWHP when I added it to my 03. With the power you are producing now you would be at 400+ RWHP which would be nice.Is it worth the price?? Its up to you but if your blowers already off do it's alot of work if you change your mind. I would also look into the LFP heat exchanger & coolant tank that LFP makes for the Saleen both are about 2x bigger than the ones you have in your car now and easy install ..
