Chin spoilers - do they work?

I put on a chin spoiler on the front of my 65 coupe. It is a black plastic one from NPD and it fits perfect. I was wondering...

1. Do they really hold the car down during high speeds.

2. Should I take it off on Friday for the Drag Races, or will it make much difference?

It does look cool. It makes for a very agressive look. It matches the Trans Am vibe that I am going for. I got plastic as opposed to fiberglass because the plastic will give a little more on the street without breaking if something was to happen.

I will post a pic on Tuesday after I get the TA graphics put on the car.

Next mod is my APC 2 foot rear wing from Autozone (just kidding)

Not on my Stang, but I had a 71 Pinto, lowered, 50 series tires, etc. I put on a front air spoiler and boy the difference on the road handling was dramatic, although I could feel the resistance when driving straight.
