On my 2002 Mustang Gt, where the dashboard meets the center console plate, there is this chirping and rattle during my drive. I have identify the chirp and rattling from the plastic plate (center console) rubbing against the dashboard. Is there some kind of lubricant that i can buy from OSH or Home Depot to minimize or completely eliminate this? Any suggestions?

I'd just take the console out, and look everything over, then reinstall it. If the problem continues, buy some buetel tape of some sticky foam and place it around where it's rattling.

thats what happens when you go from a 350z to a mustang....you notice rattles that wouldnt be in other, better built cars. the fix for this issue is to get a bigger stereo or louder exhaust so you cant hear the rattle

I had a similar chirping sound coming from the dash. Instead it was the black plastic shroud between the hood and the windshield. All the screws fell out that hold the shroud in place. To fix it you need someone to hold the hood up and pull the weather stripping straight up to expose the screws. Replace/tighten as needed.

Yeah, I love the Z but the Mustang is just as fun to drive. Can't really complain since it is my cousin's sister who completely destroyed it while trying to go too fast on the darn freeway! Hence, she is my cousin too, but not exactly on good terms.

Anyhow, I tried all the possible fixes, but i still hear the rattle. It seems to come from the air vents. Any other suggestions?
