Chirping tires

back with my old stock engine and crappy 225 tires i would spin them in first all the way and half way though second.

added new engine, better heads and cam, spun them about the same.

then i added new wheels with new wider 255 tires and it hooked alot better but it would spin still

added drag springs and suspension arms and shocks/strust and the car started hooking in first, 3k rpm in first would dead hook with no spin.

then i added the blower and my just frys them , from a roll in first it frys them and all the way through second also, i can chirp 3rd easily and i think i could chirp 4th havent really payed attention lol. but with the blower its spinning the tires HARD, i mean like driving on ice and you can smell burning rubber and see a cloud of smoke behind the car. i'm running 27 inch tall tires on the street

i would definatly no be owrried about no tirespin, i used to think it was cool but now with more power its a pain in the but to try and modulate the throttle to get it to hook

at the end of this vid is the tirespin i have to deal with.

I put some 26x11 BFG Slicks (yeah never heard of them either, but they are slicks) on the car today with about 25 psi, and took it onto the street to check them out...

Wow, first gear and second gear were useless, even on a roll. I figured after being warm they would hook. I left a solid 200-300 foot long strip through 1st and second pedaling the car (doubt it would move much if I simply floored it). I am sure had I floored it and hit 3rd it would have continued to destroy them, but the road is not long enough for that.

Ya know that's been my understanding of most slicks on the street. I have a buddy who says his ET's are useless on the street too but that the track and some smooth blacktop parkinglots are a whole different world.

its funny when i had my old kumho's on i could spin through 3rd gear, well a little in third.
Then when i got my nitto 555r's on i could spin 1st, chirp second and nothing in third and i was like damn no more crazy spinning, then i thought duh hooking is the **** and the car pulls so much harder through the gears with traction lol

Yeah well I have had 26x10.5 ET Streets, 26x9 Hoosiers, 26x11.5 ET Streets and have driven all on the street. These BFGs were hands down the worst. Almost seemed slicker than my radials in the same scenario.

I will know after the drag day on Thurs! If I can nab some mid to low 1.7s I will be happy with it.

if i smash it from a dig, i'll light them up all the way through first and second, break em loose a bit in third and chirp em into 4th. hell, if i smash it in 2nd from a 3k roll it'll light em up. BUT i've got chitty 235/55/16 firehawks out back. they were free, though, so i can't complain. lol
