Since you say you are using an auto tranny, I lean to the Stealth.

If you are using short gears and/or a manual tranny, you would want to use a single plane intake. Dual planes aren't always the best like many folks would have you believe.
Any shorter gear than about 3.50:1, and the dual plane will run out of breath too soon in my experience... no opinion here.
The Torker 289, Wieand, and even the old Streetmaster (if you want real mild), are all great street single plane intakes.
They have very small plenums and well thought out ports to retain low rpm power as well as top end.
Victors, Parkers, VR Spiders, etc... will all lose low rpm grunt in favor of screamin' top end. Starting about 3k or so.
If your cam doesn't start until 3k though, why get any intake that starts sooner???
Think about that.

Yes, the good ol' days. When empty coffee cans were thrown away instead of used for mufflers, and baseball caps were worn w/ the bill facing forward.

I totally agree guys. I wouldn't be keeping my 67 on the road if I thought that new cars were fun or interesting. I just think that intake manifold tech has come a long way in the last few years and that the twisted carb Torkers are a bit out of date. If you were going to go through the trouble of buying the "best" manifold for your car, today, would it be the twisted carb Torker?

For a mild car with iron heads? Sure!!! I know of a N/A 306 with a solid cam, ported iron heads and a Torker that ran high 12's back in the mid 80's.

I think most of the intake manifold tech has been concentrated on EFI & high HP racing applications. Why do you think Edelbrock still sells the Torker II?

YES!
For a mild street build, YES!

I don't know if you noticed, but that casting is a very complex casting.
Edelbrock is a busine$$.
They went through a time that they almost went out of business and were looking for a way to cut costs and make more profit.
That was when we lost several very good and unique intakes...
T289 was one.
They claimed it was hood clearance and replaced it with the much simplier and cheaper T302 (or Torker 2 if you like) casting. It was not well engineered and does not perform anything near as well as the T289.
So sometimes, the almighty dollar regresses technology, rather than time advancing tech like you would think.
Not to knock Edelbrock too bad, I like their stuff in general, but they don't make much of what they sell. Most of their stuff is made by other folks and packaged into and Edelbrock box.
The cams, for example, are TRW.
Summit sells the same cams under their house brand for much cheaper, or you can go to a parts store and order the TRW box.
It's all marketing.

See my last post for an alternative "Edelbrock" cam kit...

Everyone knocks the TorkerII, but I had one in the 80's on a 306 that went high 11's on motor and high 10's with the hose. Remember that was before aftermarket heads. Another guy ran low 11's with one on a 306 in a Maverick with a C4 and a brake. In my personal experience a TII worked. I never did back to back testing, but I'm not buying into the story about the TII being a step backwards. The new dual planes are proven performers and that is what I would recommend.

Okay, maybe I should clarify...
The Torker 289 is a single plane intake that I would recommend for street use.
It is very mild.
The Torker 302 has a larger plenum and other design features that put it beyond what I would call mild.
Maybe I am too harsh on the intake in general, but it is not an intake that I would recommend for street use.
Everything I say is true though. The T302 came about because it was lower profile, simple to mold, and more profitable to make. Not because the T289 was old news.
