Not exactly a beater but it's responsible for doing what a beater does...keep the Stang in the garage Never took nice pics of it since I bought it, so finally today I did. It'll be filthy by Wednesday, I'm sure

Looks good. I never got good pics of mine until I went to sell it and then had a friend take some decent ones. I wanted either an Acura TL 6spd or a G35 sedan 6spd, but ended up with this hunk.

You want a sedan anyway Don't know why, these are perfect in the snow w/snow tires. I was amazed, and even stopped in the middle of storms to help push FWD cars out of snowbanks

But nooooo this one is staying unmodified unless maintenance and such requires something be done. I didn't even want to put 18" rims on it but I got a great deal on this OEM set and was out just about $0 overall.

I still want a coupe. I'd love to find a nice bright red '06 Sport 6-spd coupe w/ NAV and just buy that....but i need some practicality now considering I'll have this car for the next 3-5 years and there is a good chance i could have a little one in that time period.

The sedan look has grown on me. I figure the AWD model with snow tires will be fine in some decent storms. I'd do tint, the rear wing, find a way to fit the Brembo brakes on and do some 19" wheels and call it a day

But everytime i see a red or blue coupe on a lot...i'm so tempted to stop

Tried selling it, but it's tough nowadays.

I actually prefer the sedan. Something about having a sport sedan as a daily driver seems to be the best bet.

Aren't you single? If so, damn dude you plan on movin' fast!

Anyway, if the AWD is interesting you because of snow-driving capabilities, I'm telling you...the coupe does more than fine. It honestly does better than my last 3 FWD cars did. And to top it off, a friend of mine has a sedan that he tried to drive through winter and said he couldn't get anywhere in the thing. Blizzaks FTW!!!

edit: the red & blue models are my least favorite. funny how we have the exact opposite taste in that respect huh?

How deep was the snow that you went through with it?

I live on a pretty steep hill. It would still worry me trying to get up into my driveway with RWD. My entire familiy has AWD or 4WD vehicles so i've always borrowed them when bad weather came

I've driven lots of vehicles in bad weather including my 5.0 and 4cyl fox and now my AWD Audi. TIRES are your best friend. My Audi has summer tires on it, and struggled a few times to get out of our driveway (long uphill). Now RWDs have a tough or no time with it, but even so good tires go a long way!

Not certain on depth, but I drove it throughout those big snowstorms we had where the buildup was almost 2 feet.

Haha, nah. My mind is set on the G. I just need a buyer...or a dealer to offer a very good trade value for it.

depends on what your looking for, B5 (96-01) B6 (02-05) b7 (06-08) or the new B8 body style

maintnance on the older ones can get costly if you dont know where to shop for parts. also if you do your own labor its not too bad. Timing belts and control arms seem to be the major replacement parts.

Since your looking for something a bit more "grown up" i would suggest looking into leasing a new one, by the time any costly repairs come up its time to swap it out for another one anyways

I've been down the lease path before. I can't do it. I drive 20K miles a year, so i need a high milage lease. It's also why i'm avoiding cars with high maintainence costs because they will be out of warranty quickly with me driving.

I checked into leasing an '08 G35x and they wanted $9500 down (my trade in) and $400/month for a 20k/year lease.

Needless to say i still have my mustang.
