You make them fast by setting them up to launch straight, not by jamming X block into it and dousing it in nitrous-oxide.

It would be quicker if it did not turn left at the hit. I manage to go faster than that with a SBF, No cross breeding required.

You come to a ford mustang web site and make a statement like that thinking that we are all gonna yank our 5.0s out and stick brand x in and go faster?
Or are you looking for some kind of dignified argument?
I know a guy that stuck a chevy in his stang because 'he was gonna go faster cheaper' and the first three outings he swallowed a valve each time now the car sits in the back yard and he drives a hyundai.
I don't really care what brand engine you have as long as it's fun and well built.

Hmm... looks alot slower than our car that's for sure.

Just a little 327 with procomp heads Victor intake 1100 demon carb and nitrous.

We also launch in a straight line.

If you want a novel car, don't bother putting a Chevy engine in a Mustang.

Do the really way out thing - a 1200 HP T58 turbine out of a helicopter. Don't spend time and money trying to get that kind of power out of a piston engine. The T58 is 55" long, 16" diameter and the weight is 285 lb. without the reduction gearbox. A 3.25:1 reduction gearbox that couples engine to a driveshaft is all you need. No clutch or multispeed transmission needed, the stall is built into the T58 power turbine.
