Closer

Long time no see Jay. I see you've been busy upgrading your turbo setup. Damn that's a big ass turbo, that turbine housing is HUGE!!! I was just talking to a buddy of mine about your engine bay and what you did with your intake, it still looks as good as ever!

It used to have a bigger turbo in it. The 88mm is way smaller than my 91mm. The 88mm is the turbo in the pics above.
I used to have a TKO600 with a Custom McLeod Twin disk clutch. With the 600's tall 1st gear and the cars heavy weight I was chewing up clutches to fast.

The 4L80E is basically a TH400 with overdrive. I bought a 5 disk 9.5" Lock-up converter from PI and a billet input shaft from Rossler. I am using the standard direct drum with Atco Red clutches and Kolene steels. A transgo shift kit and the AEM will control kick down points, shift points at load. Shift points at WOT and converter lock-up. After studying the trans it looks like I will be racing the car in "D". Pretty sweet not to have to shift during a pass.
I also had to custom fab a B&M Hammer shifter to clear the tail shaft of the tranny. Along with the hours it took to turn the Hammer Shifter into a 4 forward gear shifter from "1-2-D" with push button OD. Now its 1-2-3-OD and with the computer controlling the shifts it will be like driving a stock car. The lock-up converter will keep the trans temps down and the gas milage high. I plan on locking it up shortly after the 1-2 shift.

So here it is weeks later and it's still not running. The shifter linkage has been a real PIA. Building brackets and finding the correct linkage points is very time comsuming. I did have the DS built and the tranny is in the car.

So heres whats left, starter alignment, shifter alignment, DS, cooler, and the extra tedious job of wiring the tranny into the AEM. Seems like I havn't gotten anywhere. But such is life and I have been busy.

Should be pretty fast when it's done though.
