I recently bought a mint 2003 GT convertible, with auto tranny. Love the car!

I have not taken any of the wheels off yet....no need to, so I have not inspected the brake system closely....the rotors look fantastic and the calipers look as new.

What I notice is a clunk (thud) that seems to be from the passenger rear end, when braking as I am slowing to 10 or so mph.

I am thinking it could need grease on the rear caliper slides????

The car was stored inside a heated parking garage each winter...so it sat for at least half of each year.

Thanks

Usually when we see a car that is getting a clunk sound from the brakes its a loose caliber bolt. I would suggest looking into that as soon as possible. That may not be what it is, but least you would find out. It very well may be the slide pins binding up but either way, when it comes to your brakes, don't put it off.....
