Clunk in front and back....

2009 GT Premium Coupe.
I have a series of minor speed bumps along a road leaving our housing area that I use almost daily. When I drive over those bumps at anything over 20 mph the front and the back clunks. Not a metallic sound, but a loud thunk. My GF has a 2007 GT Premium Convertible that does not make that sound even at a speed somewhat faster. Is there a mod that I might do to the suspension to eliminate or minimize this?

You could try not hitting speed bumps every day at 20 mph, that might help a little lol

That's too easy. Actually, what I am trying to find out is why my GF's convertible doesn't have the clunk and my coupe does. If there is something that will improve the handling over bumps for my coupe I am interested.

Check your balljoints. My 2009's were shot by 30k miles.

Something could be banging around in the spare tire area, or loose under the hood. But really, you could do some damage by hitting speed bumps at 20 mph. I crawl over them at like 2 mph.
There is a strut issue.Check out this link.Number 4 on the list.

Her convertibles chassis flexes more therefore suspension doesn't hit as hard? It's hard to tell, at 20mph over speed bumps it could be a suspension bottoming out who knows without us being able to experience it.

Thanks all for your comments. I think it is the suspension bottoming out. I think I will take the first advice; Drive slower over the speed bumps.

The car has less than 5,000 miles on it so I would hope it is not the ball joints.
