I have a 06 gt with about 28K miles. I have noticed a cluncking in between gear shifts. I also have the rear end howl (for about 10K miles)that hasnt been fixed and not sure if the clunking is related to that.I noticed the other night, while making a off camber u-turn barely rolling with the clutch in, it kept knocking. I couldnt tell if the axles are moving in and out or the driveshaft.

anybody have any idea of what it might be??? I wanna have the rear end rebult (with my 4.10's)before the warrenty expires in about 5k miles.

I had the same problem with my 07 Black GT. The dealer couldn't fix it after MANY times trying. Finally a Ford Engineer came out and said it's "supposed to do that" and "it's operating as designed". I went OFF on the SOB. Long story short, the gear whine, clunking, and black car made me trade it in for the Grabber Orange GT. I have ZERO problems with this one.. no whine, no clunk, and much easier to clean lol.

Clunking between shifts on a manual is normal, now if thats the noise you're hearing we can't tell for obvious reasons (we're not there) this is the best answer anybody can give. As for gear whine.....well thats not good sounds like a bad rear end that will eventually blow..if you're planning on upgrading your gears do it now before the rear blows and leaves you stuck somewhere. :D

there is no gear whine, just the moan from the rear end, same thing as the YSB describes, but it sounds like a common thing.
