I decided to get a new quadrant and cable as my car's clutch pedal was real soft for the 1st 3 inches or so of travel. So I ordered this the "1982-04 Adjustable Clutch Cable Kit Item #LRS-7553 from 50resto. Adj cable, quadrant, FW adjuster.

So I put it in and the cable is too long. So then I left the quadrant and FW adjuster on, reused my stock cable and now it's too long. To get it to work, I had to use the stock firewall rubber that came on the stock clutch WITH the firewall adjuster adjusted out half way. Definately not what is supposed to be happening.

Clutch is new and I had no probs before I did this...

Any ideas?

look at where it is connected to the tranny and see if any adjustment is neccesary if possible, and maybe you can use another hook on the quadrant??...sounds too wierd...basically take it all apart and start over in case?

I suspected the quadrant. took it off and took a look but there is only one way it will go on. When I press the clutch, tje fork goes right to the end of the opening in the bellhousing. I'll take a pic 2morrow and post it.
