I think this what has happened to my clutch cable. It seems to bind everytime I depress the clutch. It was very close, if not touching the headers. I have the UPR cable. Is heat the main reason for the cable binding?
i wouldnt think so. i would say binding would yield the quality of the cable and also the length. MM cable is one of the longest. my Hays cable was shorter than my MM cable is now and i think a short cable can cause a ratchety cable and/or binding
A cable near heat can start to degrade and get notchy. There are inner liners/sheaths that don't take to heat very well. The cable can look ok on the outside but drags internally.
