clutch is gone

My cluctch has been making a noise when i let off of it, really had to listen to hear it. think it was the throwout bearing. well the other day i shifted and something wen, because it made a horrible noise, hard to describe but I will try if it is of significance, but it only makes it when I let off of it going into a gear. I was 10 minuites from home so I drove back, shifting as little as possible. I was 2 blocks away at a light when the pedal started vibrating at the top and had a little slack it it, but still works. question is, where im going to replace the clutch is about 5 miles down the road, will I damage anything worse by driving it there?

I always tell people to DiY, cause it isnt as hard as people think it is :P

But anywho, you could screw up the tranny but its unlikely, especially if its only 5 miles away. I guess I'd do it.

Sounds like either the throwout bearing or you just tore a chunk out of your clutch disc... Either way good luck :P

I drove mine for about 10 miles with practically no throwout bearing. all the bearings fell out of it, and i was just two pieces of metal grinding against each other. it sounded like the devil screaming in your ear every time I pressed the clutch in. I replaced the bearing, and it was good as new.
