Clutch is making ringing sounds???

I just bought a 94 gt and when at a stop in neutral, the clutch or something squeals, only stops when i push in the clutch? Any help here? thanks

Also it squeals when driving at low RPMs

That's the throw out bearing. You'll need a transmission service.

If you can do it yourself, it'll be around a $30-$50 fix for a new throwout bearing and upgraded bearing retainer. Take it to a shop, and it'll cost you quite a bit more than that.

Depending on parts/labor costs, I think the book time for the job is around 6-8 hours I believe, but someone here should have a better idea?

In all honesty, it's an easy job. If you have a couple friends to help you, a floor jack, set of jackstands, and the right tools, the job just takes time, but it's overall easy. Everyone here's real knowledgable, and are definitely able to help out! If you decide to swap out the clutch, feel free to PM me with any questions. My clutch swap a couple weeks ago was my first real big car install being done myself, and it couldn't have gone smoother!
