Car: 1998 Mustang GT Convertible 5 Speed Manual
Well, first off, I ran the car 8 times. On the last run, I went to shift into 4th and accidentally threw it into 2nd at 90mph. The transmission accepted it...and I barely let the clutch out and I felt it jerk two times then I realized what happened and pushed the clutch in and coasted.
So I let it cool down for about 2 hours. Then the drive home was fine. Then I drove to Arlington. That was all fine until I got to my grandparents house. The car was off for a total of 10 minutes maybe. When I started it up, it started whining kind of. So I just drove it back to my girlfriends house and let it sit overnight. When I started it up, I could hear it whining again. This was without the clutch pressed in. If I ever so slightly touched it, the whining would vary. Higher, lower, higher, lower.
It sounded to me like it was coming from the transmission. Has anyone ever had this problem? Anyone know what it might be?
I do know that my clutch sucks because when I was running it down the track, I slam it into gear (and I mean SLAM, I love my new MGW shifter
I was planning on rebuilding the suspension next, but if I need to get a new clutch, or whatever, I'll do that first.
P.S. I don't notice any difference in performance. It doesn't feel any different when driving. The only thing it's doing is making that noise.
