doesn't mean anything! I would suspect the cable first. If it got hot on the exhaust then it could be kinked somewhere. Being new doesn't mean you can't have a kink in it. If not the cable then I would aim towards the clutch fork not in proper alignment. This (of course) is without seeing or hearing it. Take a video of it if you can.mob said:

i've never heard of a bad cable though causing a clunk. Usually they either just get real damn stiff, or just snap.
why would you powershift that thing? And you're asking why you've got a problem?? t5's aren't designed to powershift, and NEITHER are king cobra clutches. You're asking for certain doom.
bottom line if it happens just in the clutch pedal, as a direct result of depressing the clutch pedal, you've got a mechanical problem, imo. Get under the car, pull the fork cover off. lay with your head to the rear (suppor the car with jackstands!!!) and then depress the fork with your foot directly. If you get the clunk, the problem is internal, if not, it's somewhere between the cable and clutch pedals.
I'd "guess" it's either the t/0 bearing, or clutch/pressure plate/flywheel.

hey, I'm not out to criticize you. I know full well the benefits of a powershift on your time slip. I'm guessing, like myself, you're not made out of money. In your situation, you had your clutch work done by someone else, which means it set you back even more, as I do all my own work, and cut costs down significantly that way. My best suggestion is to NOT powershift, EVER, until you're running a gforce or tremec trans with a better clutch.
For now, I'd do what I suggested, and narrow the problem down. If you have a loose pressure plate or flywheel, you certainly don't want that coming apart at 5000 rpm.

no offense mob but a clutch job on a fox is about as easy as it comes. haynes manual and simple hand tools will get the job done on a saturday. as for time, well summer is coming up isn't it? lol
that aside, it sounds like maybe your TOB has worn into the input shaft bearing retainer, maybe making a little groove that it gets caught up on and then releases.
if i were you i'd take it back to the shop or get under there yourself and see what's going on.
