My stock clutch did that too. Hopefully that'll be fixed Friday morning when I pick up my car w/ the SPEC stage 2 clutch installed.

Mine does too but I thought it was normal, everything else rattles so why not this. Let us know the outcome.

Thanks.

My clutch pedal rattles or shall I say vibrates occasionally, is this something I need to be concerned about?

Mine rattles as well (under medium to heavy braking). I'm pretty sure it can be fixed with a clutch adjuster kit from Steeda but I haven’t had a chance to get one yet.

As far as I know, it's just a lack of tension on the clutch pedal.

So has anyone ever taken their's in to the dealer about this? Mine's out of warranty. Otherwise, I would. My car only has 44K, so it surprises me this would be a wear issue or something getting loose in the linkages.

I put on the Steeda clutch adjuster, quadrant and cable and it went away. I think it is just due to lack of tension on cable.

Some say it's because of the bushings used on the pedal assembly.

My '96 had the same problem....

... took it to the dealer, and turned out to be a pressure plate problem. Not sure of the exact cause, but I remember it had something to do with the fingers on the diaphragm that engage the throw-out bearing.

Good luck.

That's EXACTLY my problem. How did you fix it? Did Ford say it was hurting anything?

Mine 01 had the same exact problem, i took it to ford and they replaced the whole clutch assembly w/ pressure plate etc. That fixed the problem for about 3 months then it came back, so after taking it back to ford another couple of times they finally decided it was my flywheel. This was about six months ago and i haven't had any problems since then.

My 2001 V6 convertible did the same thing, not annoying enough to take it in. Seemed to happen at certain rpms - not constant. 2004 GT vert doesn't have the problem.
