OK, So I knew my clutch safety switch was bypassed (I did it last summer when my starter died to rule that out) and since I am going to the track on friday I figured I should reconnect it. :D

Well it still starts in gear.

So I unplugged it completely. It still starts in gear. :bang:

The car had an alarm before I got it.. so where does this switch get wired to? I am thinking of either putting in another switch (manual switch) OR (more likely) re-wiring this switch to work.

any thoughts? only got a couple nights and I use this as a DD so I really don;t want to get too far into the wiring if I don't have too...

THe track is NED BTW.. will they check for this?

The car should not start whether in gear or not - it would depend upon if you have the clutch depressed (the switch is on the back of the clutch pedal).

It should be real easy to get it fixed up. I'm just not sure exactly if you have a problem (if it wont start without the clutch depressed, it doesnt sound like there's an issue).

Good luck Chris.

It cranks in gear without touching the clutch.... somewhere under the dash the switch is bypassed... so I am looking for either an idea of where i may find this bypass (car used to have an alarm) or if anyone knows how to rewire it completely... it needs to be funtional for the track....

OK, another dumb question...

I have 2 switches being activated off of my clutch. One is over the gas pedal (near the quadrant) it has grey wires going to it, the other is over the cltch pedal and it has one white wire and one red with teal tracer wire...

Which is the CSS?

Not that it matters, i have disconnected both and the car will still crank in gear with the clutch out (brake pedal depressed for safety)....

THOUGHTS?
