Well I have a king cobra clutch, it has been in my car for awile and I beleive it is slipping. When we replaced the clutch it was on a Sunday and no machine shops were open to resurface the flywheel, I also needed the car that Monday, so we didnt get the flywheel resurfaced. My throwout bearing is squeeling. Sometimes when I go to take off there is a terrible thumping noise that comes from the firewall area, and I can feel it in my clutch pedal. Also sometimes I will be driving already in gear not using the clutch and the cluth pedal will start bouncing and making that thump noise. I can make it stop by sticking my foot under the clutch pedal and pulling back on it. I am thinking about getting my flywheel resurfaced and continue using my existing clutch. I have an 11" flywheel that came on my 04 motor, so I am thinking about using the 11" flywheel and buying a new clutch. Any suggestions? If I should buy a new clutch any particular brands, that are 11 inch? Thanks

I have...it didn't effect anything in my particular case. I just wiped it clean and felt to see if everything was smooth. At your power level the non-resurfacing shouldn't be too much of an issue.

It could be your firewall creaking under the pedal load?

Get under the car and wiggle the clutch cable end that attaches to your clutch fork and see how much play there is. It should wiggle just a little bit and be fairly tight.
