Hey. im getting really tired of hearing all these cobalt ss/ srt4 ***s talkin **** about our cars. are the stage 3 turbo'd ones fast at all? what are there quarter miles etc? what about the stage 3 srt4s? theres a couple of them around my town and they want to race me.. im definently not going to street race them though, just show them my 1/4 time slips when i go. would i have a shot at beating a stage 3 turbo'd cobalt ss with the mods i have? are they any fast?

What is your car?

Those cars with traction and/or a driver are pretty quick. Idk about the turboed SS's, but the supercharged ones with bolt ons will go mid-high 13s easy with a driver and street tires. Bolt on SRT-4s will go low-mid 13s with a driver. And they trap VERY high. 106+.

If you have a not-highly-modded NA 2V, you had better have your ish together when you run em.

It depends on way too many factors, but yes, depending on your modifications, they will destroy you on the top end. From a stop, these cars may have trouble getting traction, so you may be faster in the 0-60, but after that, they will chase you down. The question is how quickly?

LOL I don't think you'd have too much difficulty destroying them

sloppy seconds!

To the OP: A Cobalt SS and a stock 2V is a driver's race. Your car with the modifications you listed should DESTROY a Cobalt SS, or else you've made the worst financial decision of your life by putting 10k worth of mods into a car that you can't drive.

That is what those guys do and no matter how good a time slip you "show them" you are not going to cure the stupid. Just tell them; "There is always someone faster" and walk away. Do not let them get to you. This is one of the problems of owning a Mustang, everyone wants to test their car against you. **** them!

I watched a video a while back of someone who works at Livernois who had just bought an 08 or 09 SS cobalt. It was the turbo one. With just a tune he was at 300whp or more and then he raced a bunch of car. One being an s197 which he raped and the cobalt had 3 people in the car.

Word, the Mustang happens to be the benchmark for the poor man's sports car. It really is a modern day hot rod (cheap to buy, easy to mod, etc...). Every ricer wants to beat a Mustang, because it makes them feel better about their ugly buzz buckets. A nice looking Mustang will get the thumbs up from someone 10:1 compared to a Cobalt SS.

To illustrate my point, the Porsche Panamera is wickedly fast, but to me it looks like the love child of a Boxster and a mid 90's Caprice. I'd take a Maserati Quattroporte, SRT-8 Charger/300, or a new Taurus SHO before I'd take a Porsche Panamera.

You can't outrun ugly, and FWD FTL... Who cares if someone has a faster car than you. Many stock cars can outrun the best of the late 60's muscle cars, does that make the new car better than the old muscle cars? I certainly don't think so.

I'm with KT on this one. If a Neon SRT-4 or a Cobalt SS owner gives me chit about how slow my car is, I'll simply say there is always someone faster and point out that at the very least 90 out of 100 people would say my car is better looking. Plus nothing sounds gheyer than a 4 banger with a fart can muffler, except for Harley's and choppers (I f'n loathe those a-holes).

I'm glad they're that quick...that way they can drive away faster and I don't have to look at them any longer than necessary.
