Im going to be upgrading to cobra 13" front and 11.65" rear brakes soon using sn95 spindles. I have a question about the parking brake. I have read that you need to cut the spring and weld the gear on the parking brake handle. Is this right? What cables do I need to use? I see that 50resto sells cables for a 87-93 with disk brakes. Is this what I need? Im also unsure of what master cylinder im going to use. I read Matt90Gt's site and dont know if I should use the 93 cobra MC or the 94-95 cobra MC. I don't want the petal to be too hard. Will I need to use a 94-95 booster with one of these MC's?

Thanks,
Clay

Yes, you should cut the spring on the ebrake handle and weld the pawl to the rachet to defeat the built in self adjuster in the handle when using the disc brake cables. I installed mine and did not do that, and it was a royal PITA to get the brakes adjusted right. I probably rewound that spring and adjusted the center cable at least 4 or 5 times before I got the right tension on the brakes. It is much easier to follow the directions, believe me!

On the ebrake cables, for an 88 get the FMS ones Matt lists on his website, two of the back ones and the one center adjustable one.
