searched to no avail :notnice:

my good friend James (trying to get him to post here--has a 95 Cobra) has an extra set of Cobra calipers that he's willing to give up.

i definitely wanna upgrade to a set, so if i picked up the calipers, what else would i need to run them? just the rotors? if so, what size?

thanks, gents.

I thought they had a kit with the caliper bolts, banjo bolts, and braided steel lines. I can't find it now though. Those are the correct banjo bolts though, and the lines + calipers are helpful since you need both.

get some cobra brake rotors and pads...I like the plain brembo ones from tire rack. And you need some cobra brake hoses..get some SS ones. Lines are like $80 rotors are like $110 (for the brembos) and pads vary whatever you get $40-$200. So your looking at $220-385 for everything minus the calipers.

I got a complete 2004 Cobra front brake kit for $400 from Performance Parts Industries. I upgraded my order with SS lines, so they took out the standard lines and gave me a discount. I think the total was like $420.

Since I had over 150,000 miles on my stang and never had done a brake upgrade of any kind, PPI also had the rear 2004 Cobra rear kit for under $400.

So, I dropped about $800 at PPI and had a completely upgraded brake system. No master cylinder is included, but I wanted to keep the GT stock master cylinder and it feels and operates perfectly. Each kit came with everything and no need to buy anything else. 18 months later, the brakes look like new and I give props about PPI to folks all the time. Finally my stang feels safe! :)

I thought the GT/Cobra lines were the same
When I took my old ones off and laid them next to the new Cobra ones (I just got the stock-style rubber ones :notnice: ) they were i-fricking-dentical in every aspect. The only difference I know of is the coarser thread of the bajo bolts on the Cobra calipers. Anyways, just a thought.

Hey guys, sorry to bring this back up, but I was wondering if the cobra upgrade kit needs brackets for mounting the calipers? I got the kit, and buyfordracing.com says "brake pads and mounting brackets included", but I received no brackets with the kit... Im not moving into my house with a garage for another month, so I havent tried swapping anything. I just want to be prepared when I get to it.
